If someone else has learned something, you can learn the same thing. It’s the attitude that guided our remodel. You see, there is no way we could have afforded the house and the remodel if Melinda and her dad did not have that attitude.

Today’s Prompt: What is an attitude or important life lesson you learned from a parent?

My Dad taught me that just because I was a girl did not mean that I could not do the same things he, a man, could do — we planted the garden, tended it and gathered the produce together (which Mom then cooked without my help), we painted our house together when I was about twelve, and he assumed that I was capable of making good grades in school. No question! I grew us as a very strong capable woman with confidence in myself and my abilities – a real alpha dog!
